KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK is surrounded by more than 6 types of vegetation, which are unique and rarely found around other mountains worldwide. The amazing thing about Kilimanjaro Mountain is that after every climb you will experience a totally different weather and see different vegetation, the type of weather alternate depending the type of vegetation your in. Kilimanjaro mountain is sleeping 5895 meters above sea level making it the  first highest mountain in Africa. Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcanic mountain and has three volcanic cones which are Kibo, mawenzi and Shira . Its last eruption is believed to be 150,000 to 200,000 years ago and it has been dormant ever since. The top is covered by a layer of ice which first help to cool it down but also is a wonder for a tropical mountain in a country of 25-34 degree Celsius to have ice on it through out the year!

Did you know that Hans Meyer and Ludwig  Purtscheller were the first European explorer who conquered the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro back in 1889 ? Their voyage also paved a way to the very first African Tanzanian man,Yohanne Lauwo to be the first to summit the mountain in october 1889 as their guide. He was only eighteen years old when he was selected to lead the expedition of Hans Meyer and Ludwig. LAUWO died at the age 125 years in 1996. So many interesting stories to discover.

If you ever thought of climbing the mountain but you are on a budget, then this tour is for you! Get your full day tour which will take you to the first stop of your mountain climb which is MANDARA HUT. By reaching this point you will be covering one third of your entire journey. You will be able to see variety of vegetations, which include Montane forest, beautiful waterfalls and variety of animal species. This tour will take up to 6 hours going and return but it can take longer, depending on your physical ability.  Mandara hut is elevated 2720 meters above sea level.
